I Believe in Christmas....

... as I am sure that we all do who take part in this SAL!

But this is also the name of the design I stitched for this month:

"Believe in Christmas"
Samplers not forgotten
Fabric: Unknown 28ct
Floss: various from my stash

This design is from the new JCS Christmas Ornie mag 2015.

Now off to think about my Christmas food design - maybe a Christmas pudding or a candy cane?  Yum!

hugs, Kaye

Thank you for your kind words at the July post!
Again at the last minute :-)
The August topic - clothes.
I laugh it is Bencúr (my husband) and Bencúrová (I) in the Christmas clothes :-)))

And we're going to collect something for September :-)
I wish you a good idea!

Christmas clothing...kinda

Hello friends!

This month I stretched the theme a little.  I mean there is a stocking and Santa is wearing clothes.. that works right?

This was a really fun quick stitch.  It is Merry Motifs by Homespun Elegance from the 2011 Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue.  And please imagine it is sewn into a little triangle pillow with some sweet little buttons used to hold the ribbon on for a hanger.  Isn't it sweet?  :)

I used a linen scrap I had and Weeks, Gentle Art and Crescent Colors for the threads.

I am loving everyone's sweet clothing ornaments and have been adding to my wish list, A LOT!

See you next month!

Serendipitous Jo's August Ornie - Christmas Clothing

I have decided to stitch the Christmas Cubes by Primitive Hare as my Christmas project this year.  I looked at the themes which Kaye had chosen for this year and all but two are covered by the Cubes.  Perfect!  It does mean that I will stitch the letters out of order but I can cope with that.

Here is Cube 6 - S:

This is exactly as charted apart from the substitution of B5200 for Blanc.  I also satin-stitched the pom-pom on the end of the hat.

Here are the six so far:

Rita's Aug. 2016 Ornament

Despite being absent from here for a while, I haven't fallen off the surface of the earth.  I have, however, been doing a lot of traveling lately.  Since our first grandbaby was born in mid-March, I've been to CA 3 times to visit and help with her (staying about 2 weeks each time), San Diego once with DH on a work trip, HI (to visit with my brother's and sister's families and help out with summer day care for my niece and nephew) for almost 3 weeks, and a quick trip with my DS (who was visiting from Denmark) to OH to visit with my parents.  It's been a lot of fun but it's good to be home.

While gone I either didn't have the time, energy, or good lighting to do much stitching so I've been making up for lost time since coming home.  I've been working on a big sampler, stitched my Halloween ornament for our "sister" blog, and stitched my August ornament for here.  This one is from Pinoy Stitch.  I ordered it from Craftsy and when I tried to download it, by some glitch, the wrong pattern downloaded.  I'm so pleased to report that shortly after I contacted Pinoy Stitch, the glitch was corrected.  (I always like to hear/read consumers' experiences.  I'm just glad this was a good one.)

All Caught Up

I'm a little behind in posting (and stitching ornaments), but I finished the August one yesterday.

June's theme was Christmas animals so I stitched this little owl by Joan Elliott from The World of Cross Stitching #208.  It's stitched 1 over 1 on 20-count gold flecked Lugana.   I will be making this one into a small pillow ornament for my tree.
July's theme was a free choice so I chose a little gingerbread man since I love gingerbread anything.  It's by Lucie Heaton from an older Cross Stitch Crazy magazine and is one of seven gingerbread people available and it's stitched on a scrap of light blue Aida from my stash.  It will be going to WOCS for their Holiday Card project.
August's theme is Christmas clothing and what's more Christmas than an ugly sweater, only I don't think this one's that ugly.  It's from another older Cross Stitch Crazy magazine in the Crazy for... section.  It's also stitched on a scrap of light blue 14-count Aida from my stash (I'd cut these squares for another project and then scrapped that idea) and will also be going to WOCS--I love stitching for Christmas, but don't really need any more ornaments so that's why I give them away.

So, now I'm all caught up and will be starting to look for my September stitch soon.
